Sleep

I’ve been trying to get my normal hours of sleep time lately but have been failing. This week, playing Guitar Hero with my girlfriend has been keeping me up =) It’s always something though and dangit, I just can’t ever get to sleep on time!

Anyways, I’m starting to learn that I need at least 7 hours of sleep to feel good the next day. Anything less than that and I feel decently groggy at some point. How much sleep do you guys need? It would be great to be able to operate on something like 5 hours of sleep all the time, that way you would have a couple extra hours of awake time. That kind of life is not for me though because I must be an old man =P

I need around 9 hours usually. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I've been staying up to 2-3 lately though, doing homework. asshole.

  2. Rapscallion says:

  3. dietJESUS says:

It depends on what I'm doing the next day, or that night

But I'm like you, I need about 7 hours or I tend to think homicidal thoughts about people I do/ don't like at school.

  4. Tim says:

I need eight-and-a-half to nine hours to feel good the next day. I can survive on less, and I often do, but 8.5 – 9 hours makes the day go smoothest.

  5. Mae says:

5 hours gets me good for the day, but I usually get 4. I'm studying to take my MCATs and with EVERY other friggin' thing going on, sleep is just not a priority.

I don't think I could survive if it weren't for yoga and being able to relax on my way to work/school and listen to music.

If you get more sleep, your brain functions better.

  7. justin says:

I usually go to sleep between 1 and 2am and wake up at about 8:30 for work. Weekends is when when I catch up on my sleep. Oh sweet weekends =)

  8. Tanner says:

Well, from a psychological perspective, as you get older you actually tend to sleep less. People above 70 can rarely sleep longer than 6.5 hours. So, if you are getting older, the idea that you "must be an old man" should work out for you after all. :D

I'd rather spend my last years awake then asleep. Enjoy the little things in life. But for now PARTY NON-STOP and only enjoy the weed and alcohol.

  9. Firebert says:

    Eh!

I've got a high metabolism, so sometimes 13 hours doesn't do.

    • urg says:

i know what you mean. i ALWAYS ALWAYS feel tired – i usually get a minimum of eight hours of sleep though. i never knew that it was caused by a high metabolism. and also, it takes me forever to get to sleep, and i cant sleep in later than ten. great work, stoopit body.

  10. Yakboy says:

I need about 7 hours 2… otherwise im more or less dead the next day… like 2day lol :0

  13. Sarah says:

I've found that 3 to 4 hours will satisfy me as long as I can take a 30 to 40 minute nap halfway through the day.

  14. Lebre says:

    4, 5 hours…

    Sleeping is overrated :P

  15. Chris says:

i only need about 3 to operate and be only a mild grump, but often i get at least 8 hours. It depends on how long my day is going to be as to how much sleep i get. I got surgery comin up soon so i'll only sleep about 4 hours that day cause i sure will be sleeping by 4pm.

  16. Heidi says:

I usually get four or five. :D

  17. rc5 says:

I usually get between 7 and 9 hours. It all depends. 7-9 is optimal though. 10-12 on a weekend. >_>

  18. Garmy says:

Between 6-8 normally does it for me, 5 is okay for when it's really necessary.

My name's Justin too, and I'm honoured to share the same name as such a great artist.

  19. Marie says:

I don't need a lot of sleep, most of the time I get 4 hours though. But studies show that getting seven hours of sleep makes you live longer. More or less than that show people live shorter lives.

  20. Paisley says:

I need at least seven hours, but I prefer 8 or 9, and if I have nothing better to do, I can sleep up to 14 hours, but then I just feel even more tired. I would rather have 48-hour days, where I am up for 36 hours and sleep for 12. But stupid school and life gets in the way of that.

  21. Renee says:

I go to sleep around 1, and wake up for 7:15…so close to 5 hours…I'm a 26 year old female. To me, sleep will come in the end, for now, I thank lortabs and coffee! :)

  22. Anthony says:

I only get 4-5 hours on weekdays as i cant get to sleep before about 1:30am, and need to be up for school at 6:30ish. and then comes glorious weekends, i quite often get up to 15 hours sleep :P

  23. Anonymous says:

  24. Some Australian says:
